We highly encourage all SSA Boys and Girls players aged U11 and older for the Fall 2013 season to attend the SSA Competitive Identification and Selection camps on the OBU soccer fields on May 28, 30 & 31. U11- U13 will be 6:00-7:30 each evening and U14-U19 7:00-8:30 each evening. This is a fully sanctioned SSA event and all players in these age groups are invited regardless of which team or club they currently play for. All SSA competitive coaches hold State and National level soccer coaching licenses and certifications.
On May 20th, 2013 the Shawnee Soccer Association Board of Directors will conduct the Annual General Membership Meeting for the 2013/2014 year. This meeting will be held at OBU Geiger Center @ 6:00 PM. The purpose of this meeting is to elect board members.
All board members shall be elected by a show of hands unless the majority of eligible voters present shall request an election by secret ballot. All board members shall serve until their successors are elected. Board Member’s terms of office shall begin at the close of the meeting at which they are elected. No member shall hold more than one Shawnee Soccer Association office at a time. A Board Member can be anyone elected by the members of the association following the approval of their volunteer disclosure form.
Club members who are allowed to vote in the annual election are the Board of Directors, coaches, and parents or guardians of the players from the previous season.

All parents and/or legal guardians of registered players may vote and also run for any position of their choice. Some positions require a certain level of understanding and qualifications (i.e. Referee Assignor should be an 08 Licensed ref, etc.).

09 referee class Friday, Feb 8th 6:00-9:00pm at OBU Geiger Center Rm 212. Click the referee link on OSA’s website to register. Bring copy of reg form to class along with $60.00 check made out to Shawnee Soccer Association. Do not pay online. Saturday class is 9:00am -12:00pm and 1:00-4:00pm. Must attend all 3 classes to get certified. Great way for players to earn extra spending money. Minimum age is 11.
Mandatory Coaches meeting for all new and returning coaches and assistants will be held on February 12, 2013 at 6:00pm in the OBU Geiger Center, Rm 222. Please bring any certificates of completion for any coaching licensing courses that you have attended so that we can update our database. If you wish to begin coaching this season but have not yet contacted the Coaching Coordinator, you are invited also.
The new Board of Directors is working very hard to make sure the Spring 2013 season is the best ever! The next Board meeting is Monday night, January 28, at 6:00 PM. We will be meeting at Vision Bank on Harrison Street. All interested parties are welcome to attend. Please email us if you have any questions.
